A Sweet Treat from Google: The New Ice Cream Sandwich

The trend of android phones is going on an upward slope. In relation to this, a new operating system (OS) for android phones is about to enter the market. The new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating systems for phones and other gadgets is a recent upgrade of android developed by Google. The ICS is generally a merging of the most recent phone platform known as Gingerbread, and Honeycomb which is its counterpart used on tablets.

ICS is first used on Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus, which is rumored to be released in the market on the first week of December. This new upgrade has gained a lot of positive reviews with regards to its interface and tons of additional features. This operating system also has an improved keyboard and text input as compared to the previous android operating systems. Though ICS has sweet advantages to look forward to, there are also some downfalls on some of its features. For Facebook fans, this OS might slightly dissatisfy users with its poor Facebook integration. The OS also seem to block Google Wallet and lacks USB storage device.

ICS is so far the most promising android OS update. This operating system will surely be used in upcoming phone models, and should be watched out in the coming days.
