Newly Developed Applications to Get Rid of the Alarming Carrier IQ Software

With the recent discovery of Carrier IQ as a potential spyware that can record and save personal and private data, users started to worry of their privacy and they seek for ways on how to protect themselves. Carrier IQ was said to be pre-installed in some mobile devices of Apple, Samsung, and Motorola. Sprint and AT&T were also identified to use this software on their wireless gadgets for troubleshooting purposes. After learning about the capability of Carrier IQ to record and save keystrokes, users are seeking ways on how to determine the presence of this software as well as ways on how to get rid of it.

Some android developers have developed and released an application that can help identify whether the mobile phone contains the Carrier IQ software. This application was called the Voodoo Carrier IQ detector, which can be downloaded on-line. Since the application is newly released, its reliability is yet to be determined.

There are still other options on how to get rid of Carrier IQ, and one of them is to uninstall the software with the use of the Logging Test Application. The application can be purchased online, but the reliability is still questionable. With the increasing risk of private information and highly confidential data, the best way to secure one’s privacy is to be alert and be extra careful in sending data that might cause a lot of trouble.
